Premium Exterior Painting Built to Last

Our exterior painting process is built around thorough preparation, weather-resistant materials, and lasting results. Every project starts with power washing and detailed surface prep — scraping, sanding, caulking, and priming before a single drop of paint is applied. We protect your landscaping, trim, and surrounding areas throughout the job. Our crews are licensed, insured, and experienced with New England weather, and we only use exterior-grade paints rated for the climate. We stay on schedule, communicate clearly, and leave the job site clean every day.

Premium Exterior Painting Built to Last

For over 20 years, Target Painting has served local communities, and we know that painting your home is a significant investment. We’ll be straight with you: we’re usually not the cheapest bid, and that’s by design. We don’t cut corners. We do extensive surface prep and use top-tier products from Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams, because that’s what makes a finish hold up. And with multiple locations and two decades in business, we’re still here to support you and honor the warranty long after the job is done.

How We work, Start to Finish

We do whatever prep the house needs — scraping, sanding edges to prevent future peeling, caulking siding and trim, and securing loose boards. Before any paint goes on, we protect the property with taped-down plastic sheeting and heavy canvas drop cloths over decks, roofs, mulch beds, and vegetation; if you have delicate plants or prize roses, we cover those specifically. When we paint, we spray the siding and then back-brush or back-roll it so the material works into the surface, and we do the trim by hand. We primarily use Sherwin-Williams Duration and Benjamin Moore Regal Select and Aura, matching the finish to the surface — flat for siding, soft gloss for trim.

Timing Around New England Weather

Most premium paints want the temperature at 40°F or above to go on. In October and November, our crews follow the sun around the house, working the sun-facing sides where the surface is warmer than the air. On very hot days we do the opposite and paint in the shade so the paint cures properly. If rain is in the forecast, we let you know ahead of time that we won’t be painting outside that day.

Our Warranty, and How Long the Work Lasts

The industry average for an exterior is four to five years. With our prep and materials, our projects typically last seven to ten years or more. We back the work with a minimum three-year warranty: if anything peels or flakes in that time, you call us and we come out to prep, prime, and repaint the spot, no questions asked.

Your Crew and Your Project Manager

Ninety-nine percent of the time, the exact crew that starts your project is the crew that finishes it. Once your job is booked, a dedicated project manager takes over to oversee everything from start to finish, making sure your contract is followed, our standards are met, and you’re happy with the result. Your project manager is your main point of contact, and you’ll get an email introducing them before your job starts.

Why aren't you the cheapest estimate?

Because we don’t cut corners. We do extensive prep, use premium paint, and do the job right start to finish — and with three locations and over 20 years in business, we’re still around to honor a warranty later.

Whatever the house needs: scraping off failing paint, sanding edges to stop future peeling, caulking siding and trim, and securing loose boards before any paint goes on.

We use taped-down plastic sheeting and heavy canvas drop cloths to cover decks, roofs, mulch beds, and plantings. Delicate plants get covered specifically on request.

Premium paint manufacturers recommend 40°F or above. In October and November we follow the sun to the warmer sides of the house, and on very hot days we paint in the shade so the paint cures properly.

We generally start within four to five weeks of a signed contract. Duration depends on the size and condition of the home, and we’ll accommodate a real deadline like a listing or an event.

A minimum three-year warranty on exterior painting. If anything peels or flakes within those three years, we come out and prep, prime, and repaint the spot, no questions asked.

The industry average is four to five years. Because of our prep and premium materials, our exterior projects typically last 7 to 10 years or more.

Wash the house every other year, and keep trees and shrubs trimmed back so they don’t touch the siding or shade the walls, which invites mold and mildew.
