Spreading the cost
A full exterior with carpentry is a real number. Financing exists so that a house that needs painting this year gets painted this year rather than deteriorating for two more winters.
How it works
- Get your written estimate first. Financing should never be the reason you choose a scope.
- We give you the application link. Approval decisions are usually same day.
- You choose the term. Deferred-interest and fixed-payment options are typically available.
- We are paid by the lender on completion. Your payment schedule is with them, not us.
Being straight about it
Financing is a tool, not a discount. The total you pay with interest is higher than the total you pay in cash, and any contractor who presents a monthly payment instead of a total price is doing something we would rather not do. You will always see the full price first.
It genuinely makes sense in three situations: the exterior is actively failing and waiting means paying for more carpentry next year; you are selling and the work will return more than it costs; or the alternative is cutting the scope below what the house actually needs.
The deposit rule still applies
Whether you finance or not, we cannot ask for more than one third of the contract price up front under Massachusetts law, and the balance is due after the Final Walk is complete.
Cheaper alternatives worth considering first
- Phase by elevation. South and west walls fail first. Do those this year, the rest next. We will quote it that way if you ask.
- Off-season booking. September and October have the best conditions of the year and the shortest queues.
- Wash instead of paint. If the film is sound and the problem is mildew, a wash can buy two or three years for a few hundred dollars. We will tell you if that is your situation.
